This section is dedicated to thought provoking Biblical commentary as well as conceptual and doctrinal exploration.
In Proverbs 4:7, King Solomon advised his children that "Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom". He continued by saying "in all your getting, get understanding". Later on in Proverbs 9:10, we see that "the fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding". This fear of God is a reverential fear. It means to stand in awe of God and his majesty.
In order to get wisdom and understanding you must appreciate God's word and mediate (ponder) on it. Don't take scripture out of context but seek out the truth. If a scripture or passage doesn't make sense than compare it with other scripture.
Knowledge of the truth is liberating. Just as a scam artist can't scam a person who knows the truth, Satan cannot deceive (or harm) a person that already knows the word. Just as a citizen of a sovereign country has rights; Christians have kingdom rights that can be found in the Word of God. The problem is that you can't possess something if you are ignorant of its existence.
