John 8:59 | John 10:39 | John 12:36 | John 5:13 | John 7:30 |
Transfiguration of Jesus Christ
| Matthew 17:1-9 | Mark 9:1-8 | Luke 9:28 | John 1:14 | 2 Peter 1:16-18 |
The transfiguration of Jesus Christ was IMPRESSIVE to Peter, James, and John. But the transfiguration was just the revealing of the true glory of Jesus [Revelation 1:12-18, Revelation 19:11-16, Daniel 10:5-7]. In John 17:5, Jesus prayed to the Father, "O Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was". Jesus talking to Moses and Elijah was impressive to the disciples. But Jesus said, "Before Abraham was, I am" [John 8:58, Exodus 3:14, John 10:31]. And this was not the first time a voice from Heaven spoke to Jesus [Matthew 3:17, Mark 1:11, Luke 3:22, John 12:28].

General Statements of the Miracles of Jesus Christ
- Jesus' disciples saw him do many other miraculous signs besides the ones recorded in this book [John 20:30].
- And there are also many other things that Jesus did, which if they were written one by one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written, Amen [John 21:25].
- This beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory; and His disciples believed in Him [John 2:11].
- Jesus answered, I tell you the truth, you are looking for me, not because you saw miraculous signs but because you ate the loaves and had your fill [John 6:26].
- But despite all the miraculous signs he had done, most of the people did not believe in him [John 12:37].
- Many listeners were astonished, saying, Where did this man get these things, and what is this wisdom given to Him, and such miracles as these performed by His hands [Matthew 13:54, John 6:42]?
- When the Messiah comes, he surely won't perform more miracles than this man has done [John 7:31]!
- And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David [Matthew 12:22-23]?
"If I do not do the works of My Father, do not believe Me. But if I do them, though you do not believe Me, believe the works, so that you may know and understand that the Father is in Me, and I in the Father" [John 10:38-39, John 10:38-39]. Jesus said to Philip, he who has seen Me has seen the Father [John 14:9]. If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also [John 14:7]. I speak that which I have seen with my Father [John 8:38]. "Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me; otherwise believe because of the works themselves [John 14:11, John 14:11].
The Father loves the Son, and hath given all things into his hand [John 3:35, John 13:3]. All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him [Matthew 11:27]. But Jesus answered them, My Father works hitherto, and I work [John 5:17]. For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself [John 5:26, John 10:17-18].
No man hath seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him [John 1:18, John 6:46]. if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also [John 8:19].
"If I had not done among them the works which no one else did, they would not have sin; but now they have both seen and hated Me and My Father as well" [John 15:24, John 15:24].
Jesus went out from there and came into His hometown and His disciples followed Him. When the Sabbath came, He began to teach in the synagogue; and the many listeners were astonished, saying, Where did this man get these things, and what is this wisdom given to Him, and such miracles as these performed by His hands? Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, and brother of James and Joses and Judas and Simon? Are not His sisters here with us? And they took offense at Him" [Mark 6:1-3 and Matthew 13:54]. Jesus answered them, Many good works have I showed you from my Father; for which of those works do you stone me [John 10:32]? If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not [John 10:37, John 10:28-30].
And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believes on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father John 14:12. Because as he is, so are we in this world {1 John 4:17un].
