Prayers in the New Testament
Knowledge of God
Heavenly Father, In Jesus Name
The God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, grant unto me the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of You. Grant me a spirit of wisdom and revelation [of insight into mysteries and secrets] in the [deep and intimate] knowledge of You. Let the eyes of my understanding be enlightened; that I may know what is the hope of your calling; what are the riches of the glory of your inheritance in the saints; and what is the exceeding greatness of you power toward us who believe.
According to the same mighty power which you worked in Christ; when you raised Him from the dead; and seated Him at your right hand in the heavenly places.
Grant unto me wisdom and revelation that Jesus is far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. Let me understand fully that Jesus Christ has been highly exalted, and given a name which is above every name. Let me focus on the truth, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth. Let me remember that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father [Philippians 2:9-11,Romans 14:11-12].
Let me see that you have put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church. The church which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all [who fills everything everywhere with his presence].
Ephesians 1:16-23 and AMP
Love of Christ, Ephesians 3:14-21, AMP
Heavenly Father, In Jesus Name
I fall to my knees and pray, when I think of the wisdom and scope of your plan [Ephesian 3:14-19]. I pray to You, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named. I ask that You would grant me, according to the riches of your glory, your unlimited resources, to be strengthened with might by your Spirit in my inner man [2 Corinthians 4:16, 2 Corinthians 5:17, 1 Peter 3:4, Romans 7:22, Jeremiah 2:29].
Lord Jesus, I want you to feel more and more at home in my heart as I trust you. I access by faith this grace wherein I stand [Romans 5:1]. There is an atmosphere of faith in my heart that is receptive to you. You dwell in my heart through faith (confidence in You and Your Word). I provide this receptive faith atmosphere with the leaning of my whole human personality on God in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness [2 Thessalonians 2:11]. Let me be grounded, rooted, and established in the faith [Colossians 1:23, Colossians 2:7]. Biblical faith always believes on Jesus and appropriates what God's grace has already provided. The same power, life, wisdom, victory, anointing, faith, and mind of Christ is in me (Ephesians 1:19-20, Galatians 2:20, 1 Corinthians 1:30, 1 Corinthians 15:57, 1 John 2:20, Galatians 2:20, 1 Corinthians 2:16).
I ask that I may be rooted and grounded [established] in love. May my roots go down deep into the soil of your marvelous love. Thank-you, that your love has been poured into my heart through the Holy Spirit who has been given to me [Romans 5:5]. Give me the ability to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; and to know the love of Christ which passes all knowledge. May I be filled with all the fullness of God.
Now glory be to You, who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that I can ask or think, according to the power that works in me. Unto You be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
Walk Worthy
Heavenly Father, In Jesus Name,
I ask that I may be filled with the knowledge of your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. Grant this so that I might walk worthy of you and please you in every way. I want to walk in a manner worthy of you, bearing fruit in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of You.
May I be strengthened with all power, according to your glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy. I give thanks to You, who has qualified me to share in the inheritance of the saints in light and delivering me from the power of darkness. I praise You, for translating me into the kingdom of your dear Son, in whom I have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins [Colossians 1:9-14 and AMP].
I fervently pray that I may stand perfect and complete in all Your will [Colossians 4:2]. Work in me, both to will and to do of Your good pleasure [Phillipians 2:13]. LORD, perfect that which concerns me. Work out Your plans for my life, for your faithful love, O LORD, endures forever. Don't abandon me, for you made me [Psalms 138:8, NLT].
Love May Abound
Heavenly Father, In Jesus Name
I pray, that my love may abound still more and more in knowledge and in all judgment [discernment]. That I may approve the things that are excellent and be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ. May I be filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ. I ask this to the glory and praise of you [Philippians 1:9-11 and Philippians 1:9-11].
I pray always that You would count me worthy of this calling; fulfill all the good pleasure of your goodness; and the work of faith with power. Father, do this that the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and you in Him. I ask this according to your grace and the Lord Jesus Christ [2 Thessalonians 1:11-12]. I want to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which I have been called [Ephesians 4:1], this holy calling [2 Timothy 1:9], this heavenly calling [Hebrews 3:1]. Remind me that I have been called into the grace of Christ [Galatians 1:6]. I want to press towards the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus [Philippians 3:14]. Lord, I want to bring you glory by finishing the work you have given me to do [John 17:4]. What do I need to accomplish for "such a time as this" [Esther 4:14]?
Thank-you for working in me both to will and to do of Your good pleasure [Philippians 2:13]. Let the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with me [2 Corinthians 13:14].
God of Hope, God of Peace
Heavenly Father, In Jesus Name,
God of Hope, fill me, with all joy and peace in believing. I ask this so that I may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit [Romans 15:13]. In my believing, I rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory [1 Peter 1:8]. Thank you, for the Scriptures that were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope [Romans 15:4].
God of Peace, I praise You, that you brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant. Make me perfect [complete] in every good work to do your will. May you work in me that which is well pleasing in your sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever! Amen [Hebrews 13:20-21].
Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and our God and Father, who has loved me and given me an everlasting consolation and good hope by grace [2 Thessalonians 2:16]. Comfort your hearts, and establish you in every good word and work [2 Thessalonians 2:16].
I praise You that you have loved me and given me everlasting consolation and good hope through grace. Comfort (encourage) my heart, and establish me in every good word and work [2 Thessalonians 2:16-17]. Help me to grow in grace, and in the knowledge of You, my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; to You be glory both now and for ever, Amen [2 Peter 3:18].
Our Faith
Heavenly Father, In Jesus Name
Father, for the Lord Jesus Christ's sake and the love of the Spirit, I Pray for the Body of Jesus Christ and myself. I ask that we would be delivered from those that do not believe. I pray that our service would be acceptable to other Christians. May we as fellow-believers come together with joy by the will of God, and be refreshed together. God of peace be with us all. Amen [Romans 15:30-34].
I pray that through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God, the gospel of Christ would be fully preached [Romans 15:19]. Father, I pray for the impartation of spiritual gifts, so that we the Body of Jesus Christ may be established [Romans 1:11].
Lord, let not our speech or preaching be with the persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power. Let our faith not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God [1 Corinthians 2:4-5]. Thank-you, that we have received the Spirit which is of God; and we know the things that are freely given to us of God [1 Corinthians 2:12].
God and Father and our Lord Jesus Christ, we earnestly desire that You would bring persons into our lives to prefect what is lacking in our faith [1 Thessalonians :10-11]. Make us to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men [1 Thessalonians 3:12]. To the end, You may establish (strengthen) our hearts unblameable in holiness before You, our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints [1 Thessalonians 3:13].
God of Patience and Consolation
Heavenly Father, In Jesus Name
God of patience and consolation grant the members of the Body of Jesus Christ to be like-minded towards one another, according to Christ Jesus. Help us to live in complete harmony with each other, each with the attitude of Christ Jesus. Grant this request so that we may with one mind and one mouth glorify You, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ [Romans 15:5-6].
I pray that we all say the same thing and that there would be no divisions [dissensions] among us. I ask that we be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment [1 Corinthians 1:10].
Father, put us in remembrance of the consolation in Christ, the comfort of love, our fellowship of the Spirit, and our affection and mercy [Philippians 2:1-4]. So that we can be like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, and of one mind [same mind, same love, one soul, and one mind].
Keep us from doing any thing through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind. let us each esteem others better than ourselves. Let us look out not only for our own interests, but also for the interests of others. Give us the mind of Christ [Philippians 2:1-5].
Sanctify Me
Heavenly Father, In Jesus Name
God of Peace, sanctify me. Separate me from any profane things and dedicate me to You completely and in every way. I pray God, my whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless [no cause for censure] unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ [1 Thessalonians 5:23-24]. Help me to identify anything in me, or anything that I am doing, that is profane.
Sanctify me through your truth: Your word is truth [John 17:7]. Give me the truth in your word that will set me apart from any profane thing and bring me into complete dedication to you.
Lord Jesus, for our sakes You sanctified yourself, that I might be sanctified by your truth [John 17:19]. Lord Jesus, let me behold you the Word of God, full of grace and truth [John 1:14]. Father, help me be a true worshiper, who worship You in spirit and in truth. The scripture states that You seek such to worship you [John 4:23].
Lord Jesus, you did many things that you didn't have to do, to "fulfill all righteousness" [Matthew 3:15]. You gave me a righteous examples to follow [John 13:15]. Reveal any area of my life were I haven't allowed myself to be trained by your righteous example. Show me where I haven't continued in your word. Because I haven't continued [abide, live] in your word, I lack truth [John 8:32].
